PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated February 8, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information MidiCrisis ("the Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

01

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if you sign in with Google) your profile photo. If you register with a password, we store a securely hashed version — we never store your password in plain text.

Files You Upload

When you upload a MIDI file, we store the file and any metadata we extract from it (track names, tempo, key signature, etc.) so we can provide the Service to you.

Usage Data

We may collect basic usage information such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to help us improve the Service. We do not sell this data.

02

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Process your uploaded files and generate practice materials.
  • Communicate with you about your account or the Service.

03

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data with third-party service providers (e.g., hosting, payment processing) only as necessary to operate the Service. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

04

Data Retention

We retain your account information and uploaded files for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within a reasonable time frame, except where we are required by law to retain it.

05

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

06

Cookies

We use essential cookies to manage your session and authentication. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

07

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can delete your uploaded files at any time from your library. To request account deletion or a copy of your data, please contact us.

08

Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete it.

09

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
